FREE FOR ALL TENANTS OF HARVARD DEVELOPMENTS
Join us Thursday, September 7th, from 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. for a free tenant-exclusive teaching by the Office of the Treaty Commissioner.
Taking place in the Conference Centre at Mosaic Tower at Hill Centre III, the Treaty Learning Journey will walk us through the history Before Treaty, what happened At Treaty, After Treaty, and Today, focusing on Indigenous worldview and indigeneity, numbered Treaties, breaches of Treaty, and contemporary Treaty issues. In this session, you will expand your knowledge and learn about the impacts of Treaty and Indian Residential Schools and how we can collectively foster relationships embedded in mutual recognition and respect, moving toward a stronger and healthier future.
The Office of the Treaty Commissioner was founded in 1989 by the Federation of Sovereign Indigenous Nations and the Government of Canada. Its creation centered on guiding both parties through their differing view on Treaties by giving recommendations for Treaty land entitlement and education.
