Harvard Developments highlighted its commitment to practical sustainability at a special Innovation Saskatchewan event on Monday in Regina. The event announced $2.2 million in funding for nine industry-led research and development projects through the Saskatchewan Advantage Innovation Fund (SAIF) and Agtech Growth Fund (AGF).

The event, held at the Research and Technology Park on the University of Regina campus, featured Greenwave Innovations, a past SAIF recipient whose Greensense platform helps organizations reduce energy waste and operating costs. Tim Jennings, Director of Technical Services at Harvard Developments, spoke at the gathering about the company’s approach and partnership with Greenwave.

“At Harvard Developments, we think about sustainability in very practical terms,” said Jennings. “It’s about how our buildings actually perform every day and how we use information to operate them more efficiently over time.”

He said Greenwave’s innovative technology gives Harvard a clear understanding of how each property performs.

“GreenWave’s technology and advisory support give us insight beyond what traditional systems alone can show. That helps our teams identify inefficiencies, validate performance, and focus their efforts where it matters most.”

He said that since implementing Greensense, the company has helped Harvard identify inefficiencies and make smarter decisions.

The announcement also introduced nine new funding recipients: Kinemek, NRGene Canada, Teal, Amb.AI, RUNNR, X-Steam-inator Agriculture Products, AgScouter, B-Nature, and NutraMate—companies developing innovations in mining, agriculture, energy, and health care.

“Through the support provided by the SAIF program, Greenwave has been able to significantly enhance and accelerate the development of Greensense,” said Dean Clark, President and CEO at Greenwave Innovations. “Heading into 2026, we are very well positioned to execute on our geographical expansion plans as we deploy our industry-leading energy management technology within buildings across Canada and beyond.”

Since 2018, SAIF has committed over $17.3 million to 66 projects, generating $106 million in post-project investment and a 271% return on investment. AGF, launched in 2020, has invested $5.3 million in 28 projects, resulting in a 376% return.
