201 Portage Named BOMA Manitoba Outstanding Building of the Year

The BOMA Manitoba 2015 Awards of Excellence were presented on May 13 and it was Harvard’s 201 Portage who came out as the night’s big winner.

The 33-storey, Class-A office tower located in downtown Winnipeg was named as the 2015 Outstanding Building of the Year, or “TOBY”, in the 500,000– 1,000,000 sq. category.  The TOBY is a comprehensive and esteemed recognition that highlights building excellence in six key areas: community impact, tenant relations/building amenities, energy management, environmental sustainability, emergency and security protocol, and training for building personnel. This is the second TOBY award for 201 Portage, having also received the award in 2012. In addition, 201 Portage also added an “Earth Award” to its collection; a result of the building’s stellar energy efficiency and environmental design.

BOMA Manitoba’s Awards of Excellence were created to set the standard in the commercial real estate industry and recognizes excellence in property and facility management. The awards acknowledge outstanding building performance and the people behind it.
